lifestyle
Depending on whethey they live indoors or outdoors, Plotties may have more or less active lifestyles. Outside human homes, Plotties have communities and settlements all around the world: it could be a garden, a park, a forest; they are everywhere.
Plotties are highly social creatures, so even if they live indoors as pets, they will usually seek social interaction with other Plotties. If an indoor Plottie has other Plotties around them it is common for them to start building small structures so that they can create their very own small community. If it is the only Plottie in the house it is likely that it will leave every once in a while to visit any Plottie settlements near them.
It is common for humans to forget Plotties have their own advanced civilization and usually just see them as pets. However, it is important to remember that they have elaborate socities. Plotties have towns, cities, organizations, infrastructure and even their own language system so just because we can't understand them it doesn't mean they have nothing to say or do. This overlapping of worlds leads most Plotties to live double lives: One as a pet and another one as a unique individual in an established community.
Outdoor Plotties and Plotties that are not human pets usually have a well established role in their community: they have jobs, families, responsibilities, hobbies, etc.

plottie care
Each sub-species of Plottie has a special set of care guidelines but in general they don't need a lot of looking after as they are quite independent creatures. Plotties enjoy the company of their owners as well as that of other Plotties. Some sub-species can be left alone for extended periods of time without any consequences, like Succhies. However, there are other sub-species which will need constant attention and care.
A Plottie's Pot
A vital part of Plottie care is their pot. Plotties need their pot for resting, restoring energy and nourishment. Because Plotties are plants, they need to convert sunlight into energy through the process of photosynthesis. This process can only be achieved if the Plottie is getting enough nourishment from the soil it sleeps in. Essential minerals, vitamins and other nutrients are absorbed from the substrate through the Plottie's skin while it sleeps. When it is low on energy, a Plottie will burrow into the substrate until it is fully rested and fed.
As Plottie mature they may be able to live without their pots; some of them grow very attached to their pot and will always return to it while others are reluctant to go back into it from the day they are born. Plotties who don't sleep in substrate will need to take life-long dietary supplements to compensate for the lack of nourishment, including the Anchlie sub-species which will not get any benefits from the substrate unless they take chlorophyll-rich pills.

DIET & SUPPLEMENTS
Plotties are autotrophs, which means they can produce their own food as long as they have sunlight, water and rich soil. Nonetheless, a Plottie's ability to photosynthetize can be enhaced and be made easier through the consumption of certain substances, chemicals and dietary supplements.
For domesticated Plotties kept as pets, Plottie Inc. has developed several types of concentrated diet supplements that will keep the Plottie fit, healthy and well nourished to maximize food production during their photosynthesis process. However, outdoor Plotties that are not under human care have deviced ways to get their essential nutrients from other sources, thus establishing their very own culinary culture.
